About this blog:

  • I'm a believing, practicing Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • I attend BYU.
  • I served a 2-year proselyting mission in Latvia for the aforementioned Church and during my time there, I was simply astounded by my own incredible lack of ability to back up my opinion with well-thought-out dialog and reasoning.
  • Therefore, I am inspired by the following quote:

"The man who can't listen to an argument which opposes his view either has a weak position or is a weak defender of it."
- Elder James E. Talmage

  • My goal is to help us all, me and you, liberal and conservative, Mormon and otherwise, become more well versed in our own opinions; that is, when people ask us WHY we believe the way we do, we need to be ready.
  • My methods, the way I plan to achieve this goal, are such:
    • Point out flaws in viewpoints or customs held by people or groups of people (because of my situation, this will usually be viewpoints or customs within the Church or BYU, however, please don't take that to mean that I don't support either one of those.)
    • Actively strive to search and find either
      1. reasons why those flaws are actually not a problem and things are just find the way they are, or
      2. reasons why those flaws are actually a problem, along with (hopefully) a suggestion for how things could be better and/or how the changes are to be made.

If you have any problem with anything I say, please email me.
